English Engineering is a Cairns-based engineering company which undertakes a wide range of commercial and industrial engineering projects and has particular expertise in marine engineering. It designed and built a revolutionary pontoon for QuickSilver Cruises at Agincourt Reef on the Great Barrier Reef and is a world leader in the design and manufacture of semi-submersible tourist vessels.

Based in Brisbane, GoBookings has developed a unique "plug-and-play" online booking and appointment system which can be used by companies of all sizes, from small, home-based businesses to multinational hotel chains.

From its Brisbane base, iEnergy is commercialising a suite of leading-edge management tools developed specifically for energy sector participants. The suite includes forecasting, market analysis, trading and risk management modules. The cornerstone product is iPool which is an advanced market simulation tool for modelling the operation and behaviour of electricity markets. Inventco is a leading technology consultancy based on Queensland's Gold Coast. Mobicon Systems designed and developed the Mobicon, a new concept in container handling. The Mobicon is an extremely flexible piece of equipment which allows for the movement of shipping containers of all dimensions without the need for a forklift. It carries its load lengthwise, near ground level, and can therefore operate in low-height and narrow-entrance warehouse environments. Mobicon Systems is based in Brisbane.

Based on the Gold Coast, Tidal Energy Pty Ltd is developing an innovative, patented renewable energy generation system - the Davidson Hill Venturi (DHV) turbine - which harnesses energy from lateral tidal flows to generate electricity and to power water desalination infrastructure. Unlike traditional (barrage) tidal generation systems, the DHV technology has a minimal environmental footprint and can be deployed in coastal regions as well as in inland tidal waterways. X-treme Cycling is a Gold Coast-based manufacturer of high-performance X-Treme brand carbon fibre racing bike wheels. X-Treme wheels were used by seven of the 52 competitors in the men's and women's triathlon events at the 2000 Sydney Olympics, including Canadian Simon Whitfield who won the gold medal in the men's division. The wheels have also been used in securing a string of triathlon world championships over recent years. The company recently negotiated a supply agreement with one of the world's largest frame manufacturers based in the US.
